"Stand straight, walk proud, have a little faith." -Garth Brooks
Second of the senior trips of the season was Impulse as they traveled to Nashville, TN to compete at One-Up Championships. If you haven't read the post on Blackout's trip to Orlando, heres a short recap of how our senior trips work: Senior Trips are a long-standing tradition at Cheer Energy that rewards our senior teams for the many years of hard work they have put in over the years. Each year the senior team (or in this case each of our 3 senior teams) give suggestions on where they would like to go before the competition schedule is made so that coaches have a basis of where to take the athletes. Although it is a way to reward our athletes, it is not easy. Nationals on any scale holds tough competition, as Impulse saw this weekend. With the tough competition comes opportunities to see some of the best athletes/teams in the industry. Impulse took full advantage this weekend of taking in sights, routines, and having fun.
The zoo
Impulse took Friday to tour the Nashville Zoo and have fun with the team. They walked around, took fun pictures with all of the animals, and made all kinds of memories.
Team Bonding
"We laid a lot of memories down, like tattoos on this town." -Jason Aldean
The team toured downtown taking in the sights, going to the best picture spots, learning about the history of the city, and listening to some great music. Impulse enjoyed a team dinner on Friday night at a local restaurant, taking a chance to dress up with their closest friends.
The Competition
One-Up Championships was an extremely large and difficult competition to attend this season. One of the best aspects of this weekend was watching the other teams perform. From World Cup to Top Gun to Cheer Extreme, some of the best teams in the nation performed. Impulse was also given the opportunity to compete against our choreographer's team Famous Allstars. The team put on two great routines this weekend with a few stunting mistakes. Impulse did well and needs to bring the energy through the end of the season. We can't wait to see what this team brings!
